Telugu Desam legislature Revanth Reddy had been granted bail by the ACB court after a brief period of days in judicial custody. Telangana state legislative council election has been centric with the arrest of Revanth Reddy. Revanth Reddy has been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Burea (ACB) on May 31.

TTDP Lawmaker Revanth Reddy Granted Conditional Bail by ACB Court


Tuesday turns out to be one of the joyous day for the Telugu Desam Party men after ACB court grants bail for their prominent leader and MLA Revanth Reddy. Revanth Reddy who had been allegedly arrested by the ACB after confidential info of bride to an Anglo-Indian MLA Stephenson. Release of video-tapes of the whole series of event featuring Revanth Reddy offering bribe of Rs.50 lakh to nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson to make him vote for the TDP-BJP candidate in the Telangana legislative council elections had bombilated the issue across the nation.


Indulgence of many prominent personalities into the case has made Revanth Reddy vote for cash row a politically sensitive issue for the national political party TDP and NDA government which has an alliance with it. Telangana government run by TRS chief KCR has took the issue seriously and they ensured that justice would prevail and all the people who are involved in this issue would be probed and if found guilty would be punished.

Telangana CM KCR government which released the audio tapes of the AP CM Chandra Babu Naidu has elevated the scope of case bring in the national importance of phone tapping of neighbouring state chief minister first time in the history of India. Mr. Babu who denied the genuineness of audio tapes and his voice said that it is an act of KCR govt. to defame him, his party men and the diverse section of Telugu people of AP and Telangana.

AP CM Chandra Babu Naidu has probed the issue of phone tapping by the Telangana government and strictly condemned the issue. A war of words had broken out between the two states after the cash-for-vote case, with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu alleging that his phone was tapped even as a total of 87 cases were registered by AP Police against Telangana CM and others.

Although Telangana ACB affirmed they never tapped the phone calls of any AP diplomats and lawmakers. Hyderabad local ACB court granted bail to TTDP leader Revanth Reddy and asked him to pay Rs 5 lakh as security amount and asked for the surety of two persons. Revanth Reddy was also asked to submit his passport and instructed to appear before ACB whenever they call him for enquiry. Revanth Reddy has been suggested by the court not to leave Hyderabad and Kodangal his legislative council without prior permission.
