Hyderabad Girls Outshine Boys in CBSE Exams
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the results for class XII examination on 25th May, with 82 per cent students passing the exam and girls faring better than boys. The pass percentage of girls stood at 87.56 compared with 77.77 per cent of the boys. The top score in the Science stream was achieved by Pranjal Pathak from Delhi Public School, Nacharam, with 98.6%, whereas in Commerce, the top scorer was P Amukta from P Obul Reddy School with 96.8%. Many students from Chirec Public School, Meridian School, Silver Oaks, Kennedy High School, etc., crossed the coveted 90% mark. A total 10,16,369 candidates registered for Class XII examination this year, 1.2 per cent higher than 2014. The overall pass percentage was marginally lower than last year where 82.70 per cent students had passed against 82 per cent this year.
