Hyderabad Girls Outshine Boys in CBSE Exams
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the results for class XII examination on 25th May, with 82 per cent students passing the exam and girls faring better than boys. The pass percentage of girls stood at 87.56 compared with 77.77 per cent of the boys.
The top score in the Science stream was achieved by Pranjal Pathak from Delhi Public School, Nacharam, with 98.6%, whereas in Commerce, the top scorer was P Amukta from P Obul Reddy School with 96.8%. Many students from Chirec Public School, Meridian School, Silver Oaks, Kennedy High School, etc., crossed the coveted 90% mark.
A total 10,16,369 candidates registered for Class XII examination this year, 1.2 per cent higher than 2014. The overall pass percentage was marginally lower than last year where 82.70 per cent students had passed against 82 per cent this year.
The total pass percentage this year is 82 percent. M Gayatri from New Greenfield Public School in New Delhi's Saket, has topped the Class XII exams by scoring a spectacular 496 marks out of 500.
B Arjun of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Thiruvananthapuram, and Saurabh Bhambri of KRM World School, Delhi and Mythili Mishra of Amity School, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, got the second place in the list of the country toppers as each of them secured 99 per cent. Out of a total 500 marks, they scored 495.
Poonam Kumari of Happy Evergreen Senior Secondary School, Mohindergarh, Haryana, Gurwinder Singh Saini of Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar Cantt, Punjab, and Nishok Kumar of DAV Senior Secondary School, Mogappair, Chennai, got the third place in the list of country toppers with each of them securing 98.8 per cent. Out of a total 500 marks, they scored 494.
Photocopies of the evaluated answer sheets will be provided to the candidate(s) requesting for it and only to those candidates who have applied for verification of marks. Applications will be accepted by the board from June 13 to June 17, CBSE said in a statement.
It also said only those candidates who apply for verification of marks and for obtaining photocopy of the evaluated answer book can apply for re-evaluation in maximum 10 questions each.
The re-evaluation of answer books will be available for subjects such as English Core, English Elective (NCERT), English Elective (CBSE), Hindi Core, Hindi Elective, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Business Studies, Economics and Accountancy. The compartmental examination will be held on July 16, 2015.
