Pawan Kalyan's veiled Tweets warning to BJP on 'Special Status for AP: Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan who always backed Narendra Modi-led BJP cautioned the saffron party regarding the delay in according Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh. The actor-turned-politician pointed out Congress passing the AP Reorganisation Bill in a haphazard manner and even BJP entending support to it apart from agreeing to accord special status to residuary AP. "Now the time has come to stand by that promise! I hope the BJP will not let down the aspirations of people who believed and supported them," he says. Telugu actor Jai Akash joins TRS: Telugu actor Jai Akash who starred in films like "Anandam" and "Ready" has joined Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party. He has no plans to leave acting. "I've officially joined TRS party. I'd like to juggle between politics and films, so I have no plans of quitting acting. "The TRS government (in Telangana) is planning to set up a cinema township and I'd like to do my bit to be part of it. Whatever we do, it should benefit the industry," Akash told Sunday. Sensex slips for first time in 8 days, down over 230 points: The benchmark Sensex today fell for the first time in eight days, dropping 230.86 points to close at 29,231.41 on selling in bluechips, including RIL, and caution ahead of the the Union Budget. Globally, Europe’s main stock markets opened lower as eurozone members prepared for crunch talks with Greece on a renegotiation of the country’s bailout terms. Asian stock indices, however, closed mostly up. The BSE Sensex resumed lower at 29,446.21 and hovered in a range of 29,462.09 and 29,178.26 before ending at 29,231.41, showing a sharp loss of 230.86 points or 0.78 per cent. Traders said caution was seen after the bluechip index zoomed by 1,234.88 points, or 4.37 per cent, in the previous seven days. This led to profit-booking in many recent gainers which surged on Budget hopes. Swine flu toll in Telangana rises to 49: Three more people have died of swine flu in Telangana, taking the toll to 49, officials said on Friday. According to a health department bulletin issued Friday, 78 samples were tested for the H1N1 virus on Thursday and out of them, 24 were found positive. The authorities have screened 3,649 samples since Jan 1, and out of them 1,186 have been found positive. The health department, however, claimed that the number of swine flu cases was on the decline since the last six days. Officials said enough medicines have been made available at all teaching, district and area hospitals. They advised people to take all precautions and approach the nearest hospital following the first symptoms of swine flu like high fever, sneezing, cough and body pain.

A benchmark index of Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), Friday was trading 78.75 points or 0.27 percent down as oil and gas stocks dropped. The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 51.30 points or 0.58 percent down at 8,844 points. The Sensex of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 29,446.21 points, was trading at 29,383.52 points (at 9.33 a.m.) in the early session, down 78.75 points or 0.27 percent from the previous day's close at 29,462.27 points. The Sensex has touched a high of 29,462.09 points and a low of 29,334.23 points in the trade so far. Good buying was observed in auto and capital goods sectors, while selling pressure was seen in oil and gas and banking sectors. The S&P auto index increased by 78.46 points and capital goods index moved up by 46.89 points. However, oil and gas index dropped by 88.87 points and bankex fell by 85.18 points.
