Pakistani Airstrikes Killed 17 Militants In Tribal Region on Friday
In major operation against the Taliban on Friday, Pakistani air strikes on Friday killed at least 17 militants. Those air strikes carried out by air force in Pakistan's North Waziristan after the massacre of 45 minority Muslims. 45 minority Ismaili Muslims were killed by Taliban in Karachi.
After this incident the military took an action targeted militants' hideouts on the edge of the Afghan border in the thick mountainous forests in the Wareka Mandi area of Shawal district in North Waziristan tribal region, 65 kilometres (40 miles) west of its capital Miranshah.
Senior military officials said they have killed the main Taliban militants included Uzbek and Afghan nationals and members of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). In the attack on Friday two local residents confirmed the attack to AFP.
Previously few major attacks by the Taliban killed many common people. The attack on northwestern city of Peshawar has killed more than 153 people mostly children in December of last year.
The military officials based in Peshawar not able to conform exact death toll but confirmed that the strikes happened in the area were the Taliban has stayed and killed some of them. Three compounds and five vehicles were also destroyed in the action," a security official in Miranshah.
