Former Indian Cricketer and one of India's Most Successful captain Sourav Ganguly is all set to become the President of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) which is the national governing body for cricket in India.

Sourav Ganguly was handed over the captaincy when Indian cricket was struglling with allegations of match-fixing, Sourav Ganguly brought back the glory to Indian Cricket and Indian fans by playing fair and gave a tough fight to all the rival countries. Through the period of his captaincy, he has backed many junior players and gave them enough chances to survive and eventually most of the junior players along with Ganguly has taken Indian cricket in the right direction towards success.









Not many knew Sourav Ganguly would be applying for the post of President of BCCI, Ganguly has himself said he would be participating in the presidential elections in BCCI. Sourav Ganguly's main opponent in this presidential election is Brijesh Patel who is an ex Indian Cricketer. Brijesh Patel has worked in BCCI earlier as the Chairman of the Indian Cricket Team Selection Committee from October 2002 – September 2003. Remarkably in the same period, Sourav Ganguly was holding captaincy position in the Indian Cricket Team.





Sourav Ganguly is also a good friend of Jagmohan Dalmiya who has worked as the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India and also served as the President of the International Cricket Council. Ganguly has proper knowledge and guidence support from Jagmohan Dalmiya. So we can expect Good results from Sourav Ganguly as a president of BCCI.





Sourav Ganguly is currently the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) and will have to leave that post in September 2020, following a compulsory cooling-off period. Speaking to media Ganguly said his first priority would be to look after the "financial health" of first-class cricketers to strengthen the country's domestic cricket.
