B.Tech First Year Student Committed Suicide Due to Ragging
Ragging claimed another B.Tech first year student from city threw himself on the tracks of moving train at Kazipet railway station Warangal yesterday i.e; 1st September 2015. According to the reports Sainath (18) first year ECE student of CMR engineering college committed suicide and a note was also found on Sainath Vadlakonda, who wrote: "Please stop ragging." He also stated that ragging is the primary reason for committing suicide.
Sainath is a resident of Ramakrsihnapuram in Adilabad district. Ragu, brother of Sainath said that he had not mentioned the harassment to him. However, Kazipet railway police have registered a case and the post-mortem of the body is being conducted at MGM Hospital in Warangal. Hyderabad Medchal police are investigating the case.
On the other hand, the College principal stated that there were no cases of ragging in the college. Petbasheerbad Assistant commissioner of police S.Ashok Kumar said to media that they enquired about ragging with the college management and also juniors and seniors of the college. He also said that " The management claims that college has taken steps to control ragging but the timings of classes and even lunch breaks are same for juniors and seniors."
Moreover this is the third incident in last couple of weeks. Recently, on July 18th 2015 Rishiteshwari of Naagarjuna University commited suicide because of ragging also the seniors were arrested in that case. Rishiteswari's parents, who live in Warangal, have been trying to get justice for their daughter. "We want to ensure something like this does not happen to any other child,'' said her mother Durgeswari.
In just two weeks later a B.Tech student of Sunitha, jumped off her college building in Guntur district. Her death was also blamed on ragging. Students please don't commit suicide and if any incidents happens inform to the higher authorities. Stop Ragging !!
