KTR Launches 'She Shuttles' Exclusively For Women Employees in Hyderabad

Telangana state government has launched a service, first of kind pilot project for the female techies working in state IT capital Hyderabad. Telangana IT Minister Taraka Rama Rao who had launched the services of 'SHE SHUTTLE' on Monday assured that further many more buses would be added to the service soon.

IT Minister KTR Launched SHE SHUTTLE in IT Corridor

SHE shuttles ensures safe ride for the IT women employees in the cyber city. The laudable initiative of the government of Telangana and the corporate employees association offers free services stands unique in this aspect. SHE shuttles would be offering services all the important junctions in Madhapur, Gachibowli and surrounding areas from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Another unique feature of SHE shuttle is that it lets the IT corporate employees to track the bus real-time which would improve the travelling and safety factors. Added to this lady passengers would be able to pass on a alert message to cops if they find any inconvenience or eve teasing. Society of Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) has been started off with the ‘She Shuttle’ buses addressing the increasing assaults in the IT corridor.

'She Shuttle' have been flagged off on Monday morning by Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao and Transport Minister Mahender Reddy along with Cyberabad commissioner CV Anand. Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao said “We are planning to add four more buses as we are confident that the initiative will be a roaring success. Out of 3.5 lakh IT employees working in Cyberabad, one-third are women. Our Government emphasizes on the safety and security of these employees and our commitment is towards making Hyderabad a safer city with smart technologies.”

She Shuttle buses have been installed with the ‘Reach Safe’ developed by Votary Tech which will aid real-time monitoring and also comes with one-touch Police alert for the lady IT commuters. IT corporate females would be able to download 'Reach Safe' app and track the dynamic location details of the buses besides safety features. Secretary of the Society of Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC), Bharani Kumar Aroll said that the bus service will be closely monitored by a command and control centre in Cyberabad commissionerate. Mr. Bharani further added that police teams will be able to reach the location within minutes when an alert is raised by the lady commuters.

Chief of Cops in Cyberabad commissionerate C.V. Anand said that he hoped to see the service expand to more fleet of buses as well as to newer areas in future. Mahender Reddy, Telangana Transport Minister said that as part of making the city roads safe, the Government will soon introduce stringent laws to punish speed violators. Transport minister Mahender Reddy assured that many cases of accidents in the city was due to overspeeding and racing which needs to be curbed immediately with this kind of measures.
